Although Jackpotjoy is a name you won’t have come across in the real world of bingo halls, when it comes to UK online bingo they are one of the crème de la crème, and have rapidly built an enviable brand and reputation that has grown them a loyal, and indeed sizeable, following. Playing online bingo is just part of the pull at Jackpot Joy’s bright and breezy site, and on arrival at the homepage you’re greeted with a healthy choice of exclusively non-download instant win games beyond bingo to tempt your inner slot jockey or keno king/queen out to play. But it’s live online bingo that really floats our boat here, so it was the tempting sight of rapidly updating jackpot counters for the three main bingo games that got us itching to whip out the virtual daubers and mark some cards!
Joining up as a member of Jackpotjoy is nice and straightforward (as it should be) although we were a little surprised at the rather low-key ‘Join Now’ link to get to the sign-up form – maybe we were distracted by the mounting jackpot displays, but it genuinely took us a few moments to locate the link! We’re not going to make a ‘big thing’ out of this, but it could be helpful to newbies if Jackpotjoy did.

Anyway, putting ‘shy and retiring’ links aside now, what about the bingo itself? Well, it’s a joy. A really crisp clear interface makes it a snap to get into the action, helped by an on screen link to a game guide that flashes up while the game itself is loading – a nice touch that. Chat, that other essential ingredient of a satisfying online bingo adventure, is also smartly integrated into the playing console with a wide selection of rooms to visit and a lively clientele judging by what we experienced. Another feature integrated into the console are minigames to have a flutter on before, after, or indeed during (if you’re really hardcore) a bingo session. Whilst other sites offer similar, we liked how these minigames were loaded as part of the main game console, rather then being played in a separate pop-up window. Another nice touch in our opinion. All in all there’s a slickness to the Jackpotjoy game software that makes the user experience one of the best in this online bingo business.
Although Jackpotjoy doesn’t offer the free £1 no-deposit-needed welcome bonus that some of its rivals do, they do offer freeplay versions of some of their games (we particularly enjoyed the Mafia-inspired Badabingo) so there’s plenty of scope to test drive the Jackpotjoy experience for yourself before deciding whether you want to have a go at the real money games. Better still the prize points you can win on these freeplay games can entitle you to enter onsite Prize Draws, which we think is pretty generous.

As and when you do decide to play their superb online bingo games for real money, Jackpotjoy happily lives up to its name as the jackpots and progressive jackpots on offer are excellent. Factor in the reasonable pricing (some games offering cards for as little as 10 pence) and this is a site where we think you’ll enjoy a lot of online bingo bang for your buck.
Criticisms? Well, it would be nice if telephone support for UK and European customers was offered as a free or local rate number (after all US callers are offered a toll-free number), but, to be frank, this is hardly a deal-breaker, since we found Jackpotjoy’s email support to be very efficient. We also found that the site layout got very cockeyed when using Internet Explorer on Macintosh, giving a poor and misleading impression of the main site for any visitor viewing it on that combination of platform and browser. We appreciate that this won’t affect a significant majority of users, but we do prefer to see sites that go that extra mile to make their online bingo user-friendly for the widest number of possible customers. One final matter we’d take issue with that does affect the majority of Jackpotjoy’s visitors, is the use of pop-up ads on the site – Never liked’em. Never will.

So, in conclusion, should you play online bingo with Jackpotjoy? Absolutely.
